Leading a public transport organisation where service reliability is non-negotiable, Viktor Knezevics chose to approach flexibility not as an exception, but as a system. As Managing Director of Szeged Public Transport Plc., he designed the Work Schedule Universe — a structured portfolio of more than 30 core work patterns and around 100 variations that balance operational stability with employees’. 

Rather than relying solely on wage increases to attract and retain scarce skills, he embedded flexibility into governance, collective agreements and annual review processes. His initiative demonstrates how complexity can be managed through transparency, co-design with unions and clear rules — turning individual adaptation into a strategic lever for reliability, retention and organisational resilience.
