
Observing how organisations struggle to find specific competences externally while valuable internal skills remain hidden, Orsolya Tálas-Alföldy set out to rethink how talent is discovered and developed. As a student at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), she designed a Project-Based Upskilling Ecosystem that transforms internal mobility into a dynamic, skill-driven marketplace
Her concept of a “Protected Internal Labour Market” connects short-term business projects with employees’ extended skill profiles, validating newly demonstrated competences through digital badges and a transferable Skill Passport. By combining transparency, fairness, and real-work learning, she demonstrates how organisations can unlock hidden talent, increase agility, and strengthen retention — not by searching further outside, but by looking more strategically within.
