Formative Strategic Competence Assessment: ENAIP Veneto VET Teachers and Trainers

Challenging traditional notions of competence as merely measurable performance, Cinzia Ritt set out to rethink how professional growth is understood and assessed in vocational education and training. As a PhD student working in collaboration with ENAIP Veneto and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, she is developing a formative assessment tool that places agency — the individual’s capacity to choose, activate and direct their competences — at the centre of evaluation 

By combining theoretical research with action-based inquiry, she proposes a shift from performance-based measurement to a deeper exploration of why and how competences are enacted. Her innovative approach reframes assessment as a reflective and developmental process, supporting tailored professional development pathways and fostering both individual flourishing and organisational learning.
