Presented by Cristian Esposito and Giulia Trombella, the Airport Academy is an organisational response by Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi di Bologna to two structural challenges: an ageing workforce and increasing competition for young talent. The initiative combines structured knowledge codification with employer branding and targeted training pathways for students and recent graduates.
By creating a pre-trained talent pipeline and engaging senior employees as trainers, the organisation strengthens intergenerational knowledge transfer while enhancing its attractiveness within the regional labour market.
