Recognising that traditional competency frameworks quickly become outdated in fast-changing environments, Tímea Rátkainé Maximilián-Tóth set out to create a model that evolves as people and organisations evolve. As an HR Manager, she designed A Living Competency Map for Organisations – Building Tomorrow, an Endless Story to move beyond static skill lists and towards a dynamic, continuously updated system embedded in everyday operations. 

By combining behavioural interviews, workshops, pilot testing and data-informed refinement, she reframes the competency map as a strategic decision-support tool rather than a one-time HR document. Her approach demonstrates how a transparent, future-focused and continuously evolving framework can strengthen workforce planning, clarify development pathways and ensure that organisations remain adaptable in the face of constant transformation.
